2011 SKINS YOUTH FILM WORKSHOP PREMIERES

This program features films from the 2011 SKINS FILM WORKSHOP.  This year we conducted workshops at the Sac N Fox Nation and Tonkawa tribe of Oklahoma as well as Torres Martinez Tribal TANF in Los Angeles County.  We will feature over a dozen films directed, shot and edited by Native American youth.  In addition, many of the youth will be in attendance to present their work.

Tonkawa Seal     2011 Skins Film Workshop at the Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma was great!  The youth were inspired, talented, and showed great potential.   They produced four great filmsduring our workshop from June 13th-21st.   It was an honor to be invited to your home.

A conspiracy envelops the Tonkawa Tribe of Oklahoma.  The flour supply is gone.  That means NOMORE FRYBREAD!  Who did it and why?  Tonkawa youth take on the mystery and save the day.

In this short animation piece, two wrestlers go head to head over money, pride and honor.  Also, stop motion animation fights are always fun to watch!

     The Skins Film workshop worked with Los Angeles Native youth from July 6th to the 15th.  The youth at TANF are awesome! We could hardly keep up with them!  We look forward to coming back to Commerce, CA and working with you guys again.  Thanks to the youth, the staff and Tribal TANF for having us!
