2011 YOUTH MEDIA TOUR WAS AWESOME!
On May 6th, 2011 Sherman Indian High School students visited SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA. It was a great day of lectures, video presentations, and an incredible tour of their studio. The students learned everything about video game development, design, programming and production. Sony opened their doors and made us feel at home.
The staff was generous with their time and honest with our youth about hard work, getting a good education and behaving in a professional manner. We can’t thank SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA enough for having us. They showed our youth the process of video game production and donated a brand new PS3 console and a dozen games to Sherman Indian High School. Our youth were awe-struck and inspired by the experience.
Also, thank you UCLA! Thanks to Angela Riley, Paul Kroskrity and Tracy Patton for supporting our students and our youth initiative. And special thanks to Renee White Eyes for hanging out with us and talking to the students about higher education. The students had a great time eating dinner at the BubbaGump Shrimp Co., learning about the University of California in Los Angeles, and hanging at the Santa Monica Pier.
Thanks to Lorene, Denny and the awesome youth at Sherman! We hope you experienced something new, exciting and valuable. The goal of these tours is to offer new career and educational opportunities to our youth. We’re glad you guys could come to L.A. and hang out. We look forward to seeing you again this November at the 5th Annual L.A. SKINS FEST.
